Young Creatives Take Home a YOSCAR
Friday 27 June 2008
The Big Day
People from far and wide came to see the festival and were treated to the high impact display from the young creatives! With the help of the festival organisers we turned the shop front into a huge installation!
Not only that but the work has been drawing attention from other places too... Something tells me this is not the last we'll hear about the films.
Keep it locked!
Until the next, heres some pictures from the day!
Launching the films in style
'Pause' helped the crew look further at self-expression by running through some breakdance fundamentals; Top-Rock, Down-Rock, Freezes and Power Moves.
Well done to those who gave it a go... 'Pause' was impressed, commenting on some emerging talent!

We Smashed it...!
As we say at Inspired Youth... 'We Smashed it!' so well done to the Young Creatives Crew!
Below is a word for each of you so read, take note and respect!
Peace
IY
:: MC Skinny ::
Adz you are a right character and have so many skills. Don't ever underestimate where you can get to in life. Your lyric writing and rhyme busting is who you are, full of expression. CJ is right you are a creative person, develop and use those talents they could take you places you didn't realise you could get to. Respect. Kev
:: Jimmy Choo ::
James your maturity at times held the team together and you came into your own when it came to the acting. You should be proud. You will see when the film is cut that your lead role makes a real impact. Always be yourself. Aspire to more. Kev
::
Jordan I have to say that you really impressed me that despite almost loosing you part way through the project, that you found your focus and fully committed yourself to the project. You were at your absolute best when it came to the photography session, I think there is a definite talent there and as for the Air Borne task you showed just how much positive energy you have. I can't wait to see how you use that energy in the breakdancing. You win quote of the project for me "There's always tomorrow". Aspire to more. Peace. Kev
:: Nicki ::
In a project like this the people behind the camera are just as important as the people who are acting. Your ideas for the themes and characters were the backbone of the project and gave us the substance we needed to create strong pieces. We were impressed by your skills as Director and Camera operator. Thanks to your influence me and Kev are getting T-shirts made which say ‘I wouldn’t dare…!’ on the front and ‘Ladjful…!’ on the back! Well done Nicky! Peace. CJ
Echo that CJ! Nicki you have great ideas and you showed this when you were influential in creating the characters. When people look at the characters they are amazed by the depth of thought and so am I! Good skills on the camera I am sure you will be proud when you see what we shot. Peace. Kev
:: Roxy ::
Roxy, it was a real pleasure to work with you. Like Stephen said, you have such a strong influence on the group that often the success of the project lay on your shoulders. You responded to that very well and did some great work! We were impressed by your commitment to the project and were proud to see your talent shining more and more as we went on. Thanks for the morning coffees and for always keeping us on our toes! Peace. CJ
Roxy when you just be who you are it makes such a difference to the dynamics of an atmosphere. You can make such a difference. Basically when you are on it, you are Cushdy, even when you are mug shottin' (taking photos of) me and CJ! It was great to see you enjoying taking photos, you got some really great expressions out of people this means people like you, they want you to go far and make a success of your life. You made yourself proud taking a lead role in the film, its going to be mint. "Jog on" Peace. Kev
:: Simon ::
Simon, your focus and commitment in the first part of the project was excellent and you were always keen and willing to get involved which was very impressive! In the first couple of days you made us feel very welcome which was really important for us, we now know the handshake too! When you focussed and listened to the artists you created some really good work. We hope that when you look back and see the work you have done you will be very proud. Peace. CJ
Si I thought it showed a real respect when you posted a blog thanking us for the project. I would like to thank you for all the work you put into making the project a success. When we first started the project you were asking me questions about my little brother... I wanted to tell you that the most negative experiences of your life make you who you are, and that you can make them building blocks to better days. I know as much as anyone having something missing in your life makes you feel and act in ways sometimes other people don't understand, but if you can be who you really are and aspire to more you can find one day you make a difference and help someone else. Believe in yourself fella! Aspire to more. Kev
:: Kalvin ::
Kalvin, you were a real team player on the project and you showed some great skills along the way. During the planning stages you were very committed and always put in lots of effort. Your acting work was good both in the improvisation session with Nic and on the filming day. Well done! Peace. CJ
Kalvin you have a fantastic way of expressing yourself, you can do some of the funniest facial expressions I have ever seen I thought they were amusing! You were ace in the drama session you showed your skills, except for when you actually broke wind next to me and made me get off the chair! What's that about? I am sure you can use your energy and imagination in the break-dancing session and discover some new moves. Aspire to more. Peace. Kev
